On Thursday and Friday January 26 and 27, 2012 we conducted and successfully completed our two-day-winter session zirconia implantology training and certification course, a total of twelve C.E. credits were awarded for both days. This course on the Z-Systems one-piece ceramic dental implants was focused on case selection, advanced clinical and radiographic diagnostics, case and site specific implant selection, guided surgery and one-piece zirconia implant temporization modalities. With six dentists from the Caribean and the United States in our Silver Spring implant practice, we spent the first day on lectures, implant prosthetics and surgery treatment planning and hands-on on artificial jaws. The participants were introduced to InVivo implant planning software from Anatomage during the 3D implant placement planning session. We went over the basics of how to place a ceramic dental implant, which types of patients are good candidates for ceramic dental implants, and many of the nuances that help make the procedure simple and reliable.
On Friday January 27, the second day of the course two live surgeries and a live implant restoration session of zirconia implants were performed by Dr. Noumbissi on three of his patients.
Thanks to Drs. McGrath, Kimberly Baer, Tanya Perry, Eric Bradshaw, Karen Mollica and Philip Mollica who attended this certification course. Thanks to Z-Systems USA and Anatomage for their support. We will be posting dates for our future ceramic implant training courses soon.
